About the role
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience working in a consumer electronics technical environment, specifically within health sensing.
- 5 years of experience in technical leadership. Preferred qualifications:
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience leading high-volume sensor hardware teams.
- Deep domain expertise in optical/electrical bio-sensors (such as PPG, ECG, electrodermal activity (EDA), and bio-impedance).
- Strong understanding of clinical research, signal-processing algorithms, and health regulatory pathways (e.g. FDA, CE)
- Proven track trade record of taking complex sensing systems from early-stage architecture to mass production with contract manufacturers/joint development manufacturer (CM/JDM). About the job The TechEng sensing team is responsible for sensor technologies within all of our consumer devices (phone/watch/buds/home/tracker), including both hardware and algorithm development, representing an array of technologies such as inertial, magnetometer, barometer, Electrocardiogram (ECG), Photoplethysmogram (PPG), haptics, touch, fingerprint, and others. We maintain year-over-year performance of the sensors in our devices, along with developing innovative, never-before-seen technologies in the sensing space. Given the importance of sensors in understanding and feeding user context into the ML/AI/LLM, this is an incredibly exciting and dynamic space. In this role, you will be managing the health sensing technologies and roadmap for Google wearable products. You will be responsible for designing the electrical systems of health sensing, modeling and evaluating simulation results, conducting human level testing and working with the algorithm team to deliver the optimal solution. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $236000
